The
Richie Dunavant Children’s Foundation of Hope steps in at the time of
diagnosis to provide social, emotional, spiritual and financial support to
children with cancer
and
their families in Halifax County. This Foundation will serve children ages
newborn to 21 years of age.
The Richie Dunavant
Children’s Foundation of Hope is a dream that turned into reality January
2008. It is our hope that the money
raised will help ease the financial burden that families of children with cancer
face in hopes that this will allow the families to worry less and focus on this
endeavor one day at a time. May we
all remember that our children are a precious gift from God; share them with
friends and family, because you don’t know how long you will have them.
The best advice I can give a parent watching your child suffer the
challenges of childhood cancer is to let them be children, let them run and play
make believe… Listen to what they
have to say; after all they are people too, and their wishes should be heard.
Our son Richie lived only four short years… but through this Foundation of
Hope, his legacy will live on forever. The family of Richie…

Help
families in Halifax County know they’re
not
alone in their fight against childhood cancer.
On
our own, we can only do so much…
It
takes all of us joining together
With
passion and energy…
You,
me, prayers and caring people.
